For six years I was
editor-in-chief of a staff magazine, and spent several years as editor for a local
not-for-profit newsletter. I undertake
freelance editing and spent two years as a freelance
book editor for an overseas publishing house.
I've judged many
(fiction) writing competitions, and wrote a monthly travel article for a
magazine in the US for three years. I've had copious articles for writers
published, covering techniques for both fiction
and non-fiction. Many of those can be found on
this site, and I'll be adding to those as time
In addition to being
multi-published in non-fiction articles, short
stories, poetry and humour articles, I am the
author of best selling ebooks

At the time of writing (January
2017), I have four novels published. In addition, I have several
non-writing related non-fiction books published.
I have contributed to several
non-fiction books and anthologies over the years, including
Writer Profits: How I Got
the Gig, Volume I

in that book, and I was paid US$500 for the privilege.
For many years, I also wrote for businesses, more
commonly known as copywriting. This is a very lucrative
form of writing, and is a good way to bring in money from your
writing. You can learn more about it
What else can I tell
you? I was first published in 2003 as a totally unknown writer.
I have worked hard to learn my craft and continue to do so.
I have a debilitating lung disease
and a major immune deficiency. I have two-weekly
transfusions for the latter, and have to be
hospitalised with pneumonia at least once a
year, but I don't let any of this stop me.
If I can do it, you can
