Right now, the online
world is literally begging for writers. People that can
tap out a few words - providing content for the millions
of sites out there.
You don't have to have a lot of experience, you just
have to be able to piece together a few simple sentences
- and submit them to the SECRET ONLINE WRITING MARKETS
that most people have absolutely NO idea about.

EDITORIAL:
 |
When it comes to making money with your writing skills, you
sometimes need to be a little creative.
Instead of all the 'normal' avenues of writing, look out for some
more unusual (or out-of-the-box) methods.
Sound difficult? It's not. It's a matter of simply
retraining yourself to read between the lines and look for hidden
ideas. |
|
A lot of writers believe the only way to earn a writing income is by
taking on copywriting, writing for magazines, writing fiction or
screenplays, or writing non-fiction books.
This is totally untrue, but
sometimes you do need to be a little creative.
In the lead-up to Christmas 2008 I
told you about a report that would help you earn money writing Santa
Letters. (Start a Santa
Letter Business for Profit and Fun.) The feedback I got was
tremendous.
People who purchased the report were
surprised at what the package contained, and how easy it was going
to be to earn money using the information.
Okay, but this is a seasonal
product, right? Totally wrong.
What's to stop you from
'repurposing' the information so it can be used for various
celebrations throughout the year? Celebrations like
Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, etc.
Absolutely nothing. The report
is not expensive, and at just under $20, this report package could
effectively double or even triple your writing income (or more),
dependant on how you utilize it.
I've been earning regular income
from my writing skills for several years now, despite my health
issues, and despite being told by other writers it was impossible.
My mission is to help you achieve
success as a writer. In this issue you will find two articles that
will assist with those efforts.
Roy
A. Barnes brings us an article that might make you think twice about
what's holding you back as a writer.
Make Money From The Hands Dealt to You In Life
is
a powerful article that will leave you reassessing the way you
think.
Do
you put "your best side" forward when submitting? Read this article
from Mary Cook and you may think otherwise.
Before I leave you today, I want to tell you about a Melbourne-based
group I recently found. This is for online marketers, not
writers; I know there are several people on this list who are doing
both.
Basically, it's for those who fall into the above category, and who
are interested in some 'face to face' contact. If this is you,
go here. Their aim
is to eventually make it Australia-wide, but for now it's only
Melbourne. The meetings will monthly, and will be held in Mulgrave.
They launch in September.
Okay, that's it from me - time to sit
back and enjoy this issue.
Til next time…

ideas and information designed to help you earn a writing income.

Make Money From The
Hands Dealt to You In Life
İRoy Barnes - All Rights Reserved
There’s an old saying that
goes, “You have to play the hand that is dealt to you.”
Now, even if you are not a gambler, this
saying does apply to us living and breathing beings because each one of us
has an uniqueness in our personalities and life situations just like the
combination of cards one gets while playing a hand of poker!
As writers, we can exercise our
gift and ability with the written word to not only write about the
challenges we face living, but by sharing them via published articles,
essays, and books based on our personal journeys, more money and surprising
opportunities can come our way.
Let me share with you one aspect of how I’ve
played the hand that’s been dealt to me in life in a winning fashion. You see,
publishers of various media are looking for inspirational stories of
overcoming.
I was born with a condition called
Asperger's Syndrome, which is a neuro-biological condition that is
considered a high-functioning form of autism. This condition
affects my dexterity, how I take in the environment around me, Asperger's
Syndrome makes it more challenging for me to relate to people on an
interpersonal level, etc.
As a lover of travel, Asperger's Syndrome
affected my getting around the places I visited the first time I took a
group tour abroad.
This happened when I was allowed to explore
places on my own. You see, I often got lost in cities because I have a hard
time understanding where I'm at in relation to maps. And only with
the help of the police and the locals, did I manage to get back to where my
group was.
In a nutshell, I had
to learn to compensate for the hand that was dealt me, which in turn helped
me travel independently throughout the world. Having
Asperger’s Syndrome may have been a blessing, too, as far as writing is
concerned, for we Aspies (those who have this condition) are very methodical
and ritualistic when it comes to approaching the things that interest us, so
that definitely helps me keep focused on the aspects of my writing,
including the tracking of submissions, the business side, meeting deadlines,
etc.

Your Best Side
İMary Cook - All Rights Reserved
“It
warms you twice,” said the man mopping sweat from his brow while
chopping wood. And that’s how you need to think of your bio. The
credentials you use to sell your work to
one
editor can be scaled down and tailored to sell more of your work to
other editors.
Do you
always show your best profile, or do you hide it behind a curtain of
hair? When you ’ re asked to provide a biographical note to
accompany your work, you need to list your greatest successes as
well as your main writing interests.
Using the third person:
An
additional snippet of personal information may sometimes give you an
edge, as long as it bears some relation to the piece on submission,
however tenuous. I was once called up by the editor of an animal
magazine, asking me to write an article on beekeeping. She’d picked
up on my love of bees from the brief resume I’d supplied. The result
was a lucrative commission which suited my interests and abilities
exactly.
Accentuate the Positive
Highlight the more prestigious assignments you’ve completed, not the
trials and tribulations you suffered on the way.
If
you’re submitting a piece that has already been rejected by other
editors, no one need know except you. Modesty is one thing, but
telling all and sundry where you’ve failed quite another.
Best
Foot Forward
If you
want to be all things to all editors, you need to show them you're as versatile as a
Swiss Army knife. When you combine several roles, such as writer,
editor and translator or journalist, copywriter and proof reader,
make sure the facet you want to emphasize appears at the top of the
list.

Subscriber News:
Two pieces of news from subscriber Joe Vojt:
“Obsession for excellence drives the quest for flight”
Wings of Air explores the premise that a Native American Indian
woman could become a fully pledged Strategic Air Command officer
during the cold war era.
Nemissa Blackbear grew up in the state of Maine, educated at the
University of Connecticut. Follow her experience through basic
training as an officer in Texas and flight school. Nemissa moved to
Mississippi as part of the new ECM aerospace electronics field.
Finding friends became her challenge and life in the service was
nothing that she would have ever expected. The novel expresses the
idea that obsession for excellence drives the quest for flight and
it is based on the premise that the field is open to anyone
regardless of gender or origin.
